Motion to Discharge a Committee from the Consideration of a resolution

December 6, 2005

To the Clerk of the House of Representatives:
 
Pursuant to clause 2 of rule XV, I, Louise McIntosh Slaughter, move to discharge the Committee on Rules from the consideration of the resolution (H. Res. 460) entitled, a resolution providing for consideration of the bill (H.R. 3764) to establish a National Independent Inquiry Commission on Disaster Preparedness and Response to examine and evaluate the Federal Government's response to Hurricane Katrina and assess its ability to respond to future large-scale disasters; which was referred to said committee on September 27, 2005, in support of which motion the undersigned Members of the House of Representatives affix their signatures, to wit:
