On Saturday, November 7, 2009, the House passed  H.R. 3962, "to provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care spending, and for other purposes," commonly known as "Affordable Health Care for America Act."

This bill passed the House with: 220 AYES and 215 NOES, in Roll Call 887.

This bill, H.R. 3962, was introduced on October 29, 2009 by Representative John Dingell and referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, Education and Labor, Ways and Means, Oversight and Government Reform, the Budget, Rules, Natural Resources and the Judiciary.

H.R. 3200 , "To provide affordable, quality health care for all Americans and reduce the growth in health care spending, and for other purposes," commonly known as "America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009," was introduced on July 14, 2009 by Representative John Dingell.

This bill, H.R. 3200, was referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce, Ways and Means, Education and Labor, Oversight and Government Reform, and the Budget.

According to an August 4, 2009 Congressional Research Service report entitled, Public Health, Workforce, and Quality Provisions in the House Health Reform Legislation (H.R. 3200), "the legislation was jointly developed by the House Committees on Ways and Means, Energy and Commerce, and Education and Labor, which share jurisdiction over the federal health statutes."
