10:03:43 A.M. The Speaker designated the Honorable Steven C. LaTourette to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.
10:03:50 A.M. Today's prayer was offered by Reverend Patrick Riffle, St. Peter's Catholic Church, Washington, DC.
10:05:12 A.M. The Chair announced that pursuant to section 3(a) of H. Res. 788, the Journal of the last day's proceedings was approved.
10:05:24 A.M. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair designated Ms. Edwards to lead the Members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
10:06:35 A.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on September 21, 2012 at 4:21 p.m. stating that that body had made an appointment to the Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor Review Board.
10:06:55 A.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on September 24, 2012 at 12:26 p.m. stating that the Senate had passed S. 3311, S. 3193, S. 3341, S. 3486, S. 3625, S. 3624, S. 3315, S. 1956; that the Senate had concurred in the House amendment to S. 300 and S. 710; and that the Senate had agreed to S. Con. Res. 50.
10:10:03 A.M. The Speaker announced that the House do now recess for a period of less than 15 minutes.
10:11:49 A.M. The House convened, returning from a recess continuing the legislative day of September 25.
10:12:21 A.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on September 24, 2012 at 12:26 p.m. stating that that body had passed without amendment H.R. 6433, H.R. 6431, H.R. 6375, H.R. 6215, H.R. 6189, H.R. 5512, H.R. 4347, H.R. 4223, H.R. 4158, H.R. 3556, H.R. 2706, H.R. 2240, H.R. 2139, H.R. 1791, H.R. 1272.
10:13:37 A.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on September 24, 2012 at 12:26 p.m. stating that that body had passed H.R. 915, H.R. 2606, H.R. 4850 with an amendment and passed H.R. 2453 and H.R. 2838 with amendments.
10:13:52 A.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on September 24, 2012 at 9:13 a.m. stating that that body had passed S.J. Res. 41 and agreed to H.J. Res. 117.
10:14:42 A.M. The Speaker announced that the House do now adjourn pursuant to section 3(b) of H. Res. 788. The next meeting is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on September 28, 2012.
