3:30:59 P.M. The House convened, starting a new legislative day.
3:31:18 P.M. The Speaker designated the Honorable Thomas J. Rooney to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.
3:32:28 P.M. Today's prayer was offered by the House Chaplain, Rev. Patrick J. Conroy.
3:33:46 P.M. The Speaker announced approval of the Journal. Pursuant to section 2(a) of H. Res. 653, the Journal stands approved.
3:33:50 P.M. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair led the House in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
3:33:59 P.M. The House received a communication from Traci Beaubian, Chief Financial Officer. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Ms. Beaubian notified the House that she had been served with a grand jury subpoena for testimony issued by the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, she would make determinations required by Rule VIII.
3:34:00 P.M. The House received a communication from John Nadeau, Director, Financial Counseling. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Nadeau notified the House that he had been served with a grand jury subpoena for testimony issued by the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, he would make determinations required by Rule VIII.
3:34:01 P.M. The House received a communication from Andrew Todd Caulk, Supervisor, Financial Counseling. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Caulk notified the House that he had been served with a grand jury subpoena for testimony issued by the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, he would make determinations required by Rule VIII.
3:34:02 P.M. The House received a communication from Norman Gugliotta, Counselor. Pursuant to Rule VIII of the Rules of the House of Representatives, Mr. Gugliotta notified the House that he had had been served with a grand jury subpoena for testimony issued by the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois and that after consultation with the Office of General Counsel, he would make determinations required by Rule VIII.
3:34:13 P.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on April 5, 2016 at 11:42 a.m.: That the Senate passed S. 1890.
3:34:15 P.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on April 7, 2016 at 12:39 p.m.: That the Senate passed S. 1638 and S. 1492.
3:34:16 P.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk received the following message from the Secretary of the Senate on April 7, 2016 at 5:37 p.m.: that the Senate agreed to the House amendment to S. 192.
3:36:48 P.M. The Speaker announced that the House do now adjourn pursuant to H. Res. 653. The next meeting is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on April 12, 2016.
