2:00:02 P.M. The House convened, starting a new legislative day.
2:00:34 P.M. NOTIFICATION OF REASSEMBLY - The Chair laid before the House the text of the formal notification sent to Members on Thursday, December 27, 2012, of the reassembly of the House.
2:01:06 P.M. Today's prayer was offered by the House Chaplain, Rev. Patrick J. Conroy.
2:02:08 P.M. The Speaker announced approval of the Journal. Pursuant to clause 1, rule I, the Journal stands approved.
2:02:11 P.M. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE - The Chair designated Mr. Poe of TX to lead the Members in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
2:02:32 P.M. ONE MINUTE SPEECHES - The House proceeded with one minute speeches.
2:14:37 P.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on December 28, 2012 at 10:45 a.m. stating that that body had passed H.R. 5949 without amendment.
2:14:50 P.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on December 28, 2012 at 9:50 a.m. stating that that body had passed H.R. 2338, H.R. 3892, H.R. 3869, H.R. 4389, H.R. 6260, H.R. 6379, H.R. 6587, and S. 3667.
2:15:27 P.M. The House received a message from the Clerk. Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received a message from the Secretary of the Senate on December 30, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. stating that that body had passed H.R. 6014, H.R. 6620, and S. 3454. The message also stated that the Senate had passed H.R. 6621, with amendment; H.R. 1, with amendments; and H.R. 1464, with amendments.
2:15:44 P.M. The Speaker announced that the House do now recess. The next meeting is subject to the call of the Chair.
4:30:29 P.M. The House convened, returning from a recess continuing the legislative day of December 30.
4:30:45 P.M. The Speaker announced that votes on suspensions, if ordered, will be postponed until the conclusion of general debate on all suspensions.
4:31:10 P.M. H.R. 4057 Mr. Miller (FL) moved that the House suspend the rules and agree to the Senate amendment.
