4:00:00 P.M. The House convened, starting a new legislative day.
4:00:10 P.M. The Speaker designated the Honorable Steven C. LaTourette to act as Speaker pro tempore for today.
4:00:14 P.M. COMMUNICATION FROM THE SERGEANT-AT-ARMS - The Chair laid before the House a communication from the Sergeant-At-Arms wherein he stated that pursuant to clause 12(c) of rule I, an imminent impairment of the scheduled time for the House meeting of 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, was in place due to weather. Subsequently, the Chair announced that the rescheduling of the time of meeting for the House at 4 p.m. had been communicated to the Members.
4:00:20 P.M. Today's prayer was offered by Reverend Gene Hemrick, Washington Theological Union, Washington, DC.
4:02:00 P.M. APPROVAL OF THE JOURNAL - The Chair announced that, pursuant to the provisions of section 3(a) of H. Res. 788, the Journal of the last day's proceedings was approved.
4:02:35 P.M. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG - The Chair led the House in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
4:03:36 P.M. MOMENT OF SILENCE - The Chair led the House in observing a moment of silence in remembrance of the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
4:04:34 P.M. The Speaker announced that the House do now adjourn pursuant to section 3(b) of H. Res. 788. The next meeting is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2012.
