Edward Lewis “Bob” Bartlett, 1904–1968

Alaska’s “Founding Father” used his reportorial skills to publicize the case for statehood. A longtime territorial delegate, Bartlett won election to the U.S. Senate when Alaska joined the Union in 1959.
